IMPACT AND FORCE DIFFERENCES IN TACKLING STYLES
THE PROJECT
This project was created due to the rise in concern for contact sports. Less people are joining football and rugby due to the risk of concussions. On top of that, there is a growing debate about which sport has the better tackling style. This project shows the differences between the two tackling styles in which one has less of a chance for the ball carrier to get a concussion or head trauma.
THE AWARDS
This project has recieved first place at the Broward County Science Fair in Florida. It has also won the Yale Science and Engineering Assoc.'s Most Outstanding Exhibit in Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, or Chemistry. At the state level, it recieved Special Recognition (6th Place) and an award from St. John's Regional Science Fair for Outstanding Exhibit with a cash award.
